Now that I've settled down in Urbana-Champaign and have bought a computer, blogging will resume on a regular basis. Thanks to all the people (particularly Faraz) who kept asking for updates.
I'll try at some time in the future to describe UIUC, Champaign-Urbana and life here, but for today I just wanted to post a link to a speech made at the 2004 (American) National Convention of the Society of Professional Journalists.
There are times I seriously consider a career in journalism.

What do you think about the 'over-zealous' reporter/journalist? I mean, as far as the quest for truth goes, where would you draw the line between 'wanting to expose reality' and 'wanting a good story'? - Indu
I'm permanently thinking about ethics (so are you, Indu; don't try to deny it!), so that's an easy one. As a journalist, one tries to tell the truth as best one is able. I don't think I'd be able to indulge in even a (relatively) mild distortion of reality such as selective reporting. If that means sacrificing a good story and/or readership, so be it!
